This place just saved me a lot of money. I had my safety inspection done at Gilmores in September 2011. Two weeks later I was due for an oil change so I took it back to Gilmores. However, I was in a bit of a time crunch and Gilmore's had a wait, so I opted to take my car somewhere else for the oil change. When I picked my car up from the oil change at the other store, the woman led me to believe my brakes were in really bad shape and needed to be replaced within the month, and then quoted me about 900 dollars to replace them. Seeing as I just had my safety inspection a month earlier, I took the car back to Gilmores to have them look at the brakes. Gilmores told me I had plenty of time left on my brakes and that they looked like they were in great shape. When I was waiting to have my car looked at they offered to drive me home and leave the car there- and offer I have never heard of anywhere else! They also looked at the brakes for me free of charge. Gilmore's has my family's service from now on!
We have been using Gilmore's for over 20 years, and they are the most honest, reputable car repair service our family has ever dealt with. I highly recommend them!
Originally we had vehicle served at Inte___?. The mechanic there is a liar. We switched to Gilmores a few years ago. They are a great bunch and most of all HONEST. Tom & Peg
DO NOT GO HERE! I had them replace an alternator on my Mazda 6. Two weeks later the alternator failed. I took it back and asked them to inspect the electrical portion and leads back to the battery. They supposedly did and ensured me that all the connections were fine and it was just a bad part from Auto Zone. I took it to Merchants for a second opinion and as soon as they disconnected the electrical harness the wires fell out of it. The Harness had been hot glued and was obviously shorting out which in turn was destroying the alternator. They wanted to charge me again over $500 to redo the whole installation. When I took it back to show Chuck he argued with me that they did not hot glue the harness but admitted they did not check the electrical connections all the way back to the alternator. If they were doctors, they would be sued for malpractice.
Had a bad experience when my car went in for its inspection. They first tried to over charge me for brakes. Then my car got damaged in the back while with them and they are denying it. I would not ever take another car to them and I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are rude and unhelpful. The damage to my car got worse the next day so it was fresh when I picked it up.
